Wolf spiders are web-spinning spiders that feed on insects and like to keep to themselves. They can and will bite and can inject venom, which is nearly harmless to humans. It can, however, leave a welt, redness or swelling behind, although you may not need any medical attention at all from their bites. Wolf spiders generally keep away from humans, but you may find them in your home, in your garage, in your shed or in your yard. These spiders can range in size. If you have these spiders in or around your home, there are a few things you can do to help get rid of them. Read on for helpful tips.

Spray Your Yard And Your Home

If you're seeing a lot of these spiders, it's most likely because they have been busy mating and creating other wolf spiders that are invading your space. If you have these pests, they can carry a stigma about them, as they appear to be a larger spider and aren't what you want to find in your shower, or next to your shoes. These spiders can be quite scary at first glance, and your immediate reaction may be to stifle a scream. Spraying your yard with a pesticide that helps kill spiders will help get rid of them. Spray around the boundaries of your home and along the edges of your yard. You can spray around your garden beds and flower beds as well. Inside your home, you can also use a pesticide, or you can spray peppermint essential oil to help repel the spiders. Planting peppermint plants can also help repel spiders.

Remove Piles Of Wood

Piles of wood provide great cover for these types of spiders and other spiders or pests as well. If you have a woodpile near your home, move it further away from your house to keep spiders from getting too close to your home. If you have piles of other wood, such as spare wood or landscape debris, remove these piles from your yard completely.

Replace Window And Door Seals

If the seals around your windows and doors are broken or are dry-rotted, they can allow these spiders into your home. If you're seeing an influx of these spiders or other types of spiders and other pests in your home, check your door and window seals to ensure they are intact and in good shape. If they aren't, have them replaced so you aren't allowing these pests to come and go freely.

Wolf spiders are not the type of spider you want to share your home with. Hire a pest control company to take care of these pests or any other pests you have.
